Michael Mays is a former PhD student who played quizbowl at Imperial College London from 2020-23. Alongside Adam Jones, Enoch Yuen and Justin Lee, Michael was part of the Imperial A team that enjoyed considerable success in UK tournaments in the 2022-23 season, including winning the 2023 British Student Quiz Championships for the first time in Imperial's history. He was also on both Imperial teams to have attended ACF Nationals. Michael Mays is Imperial's most prolific quizbowl player, having participated in 20 tournaments during his time there, not including opens. Outside of quizbowl, he was the captain of the Imperial team that won the 2021-22 series of University Challenge. Michael has a reputation of being a generalist, although his strongest subject is literature.
