Rein Otsason was a Canadian Quizbowler who played for [[Toronto]] during his undergrad, master's and Ph.D. During his high school years at [[UTS]], he led its [[Reach for the Top]] team to win the 2012 National Championship along with Jenny Mao, [[Daniel Lovsted]], and Cole Jackes. Throughout his university career, he played on many iterations of Toronto A, with a career-best nationals finish of 11th at the [[2017 ICT]] playing alongside [[Jay Misuk]], Aayush Rajasekaran, and [[Patrick Liao]]. From 2017-2020 he was consistently ranked as the second-best player on the Canadian circuit based on his broad generalism and deep science knowledge, in each year just behind [[McGill]]'s [[Derek So]].
