Matt Jackson was the captain of Georgetown Day School in 2009-10. After two tournaments on GDS B his freshman and sophomore years, Matt joined the A team alongside Ian Eppler, whose ability to fraud widely contrasted with Matt's more scattered real knowledge.
During Matt's senior year, he was the top scorer at every tournament attended during the regular season; these tournaments were the Richard Montgomery Rumble on the Pike, the Maryland Fall Tournament, the TJIAT, VCU Winter, GSAC XVII, ACF Winter 2010, ZIGZAG, Blue Hen XII (at which he also won the neg prize and the tournament playing solo), Maryland/DC NAQT States, and the Maryland Spring Invitational.
At the 2010 HSNCT, he led his team to 5th place, earning an All-Star award with a 2nd place overall finish and 119 PP20TUH; he and Neil Gurram broke the previous record held by Kurtis Droge. His team finished 6th at the 2010 NSC, at which he was the #1 scorer.
Matt will be attending Yale starting in the fall of 2010, and intends to play quizbowl there.
