The Quizbowl Cast is a Quizbowl Podcast, marginally run by former Maryland player Mike Bentley. Except for the first episode, the podcast consists entirely of quizbowl matches recorded at tournaments Mike Bentley attends. The only editing done in these matches is to crop off the beginning and the end, so swearing and various embarassing comments and negs pop up frequently. As of October 2013 new episodes are still being posted, despite the lack of blog posts since 2008. There is allegedly one or more secret episodes of the podcast, although no one knows where to get them.

Creation

In the past, each episode was recorded with an iRiver t30 MP3 player. More recently, episodes have been recorded with the higher quality Handy H2 Pocket Recorder, except when Mike forgets to replace the batteries.

The bulk of the work involves editing and processing the files so that they're listenable, and tagging the matches to give them context. This is the primary reason that it takes several weeks and months for tournaments to get uploaded.

The two theme songs were created using Fruity Loops.
