The McDonald's High School Challenge is a televised high school competition for teams around Fargo, ND and across northern Minnesota. It is sponsored by McDonald's and Concordia College-Moorhead and broadcast on NBC affiliate KXJB-TV Fargo. Games are usually taped during Saturday mornings and then broadcast in the evening (6:30PM as of 2012).
Due to Knowledge Bowl's presence as the dominant format in the region, the High School Challenge is sometimes known as a Knowledge Bowl competition, despite the fact that it doesn't use Academic Hallmarks questions or other usual KB features like the Quizbox or written rounds. Like most television shows, the McDonald's High School Challenge uses speed check questions of unknown origin, albeit in this case of decent quality.
