Nick Conder is a PhD student and quizbowl player at Louisville. At the high school level, Conder played for Grayson County (KY) from 2005-2009. His senior year he was captain, and led Grayson County to their first ever appearances at the Kentucky Governor's Cup State Tournament and HSNCT. Conder served as an assistant coach at Grayson County from 2009-2012, and is currently the coach of the Gatton Academy team.
Conder founded the quizbowl team at Western Kentucky in 2009 and has appeared on the A team from 2009-2015. He is generally a decent history player, and is one of the few players in collegiate quizbowl whose best subject is current events. This has led Conder to be a reliable player on WKU's team as it has improved in recent years, as he's transition from being a terrible generalist into a decent specialist. WKU has gone from being a doormat at regional tournaments to a team able to qualify for and win a few games at 2014 ICT during Conder's career.
