The Scholastic Bowl Company of Virginia (SBCofVa) was the the corporate entity under which Shawn Pickrell wrote questions for VHSL and MSHSAA competitions. The corporate entity allowed writers to be paid in the form of dividends, though for all intents and purposes, Pickrell and SBCofVa could be considered synonymous.

HSAPQ is legally a continuation of SBCofVa, since SBCofVa acquired the original entity known as HSAPQ, then changed its name to HSAPQ. However, Shawn Pickrell is no longer responsible for day to day question writing operations.
