The MQBA previously operated the [[Minnesota High School Quiz Bowl League]], which is now run exclusively by Hentzel and NAQT. It has three divisions, each with three preliminary meetings a season at different sites, and lasts from November to February on Thursday evenings. Each meeting is colloquially known as a "league night," and consists of four rounds against opponents determined by performance at previous league nights. In February, the the league's top teams are seeded into a double elimination tournament held at [[Burnsville|Burnsville High School]]. Some matches are broadcast on local channel BCTV4, exclusively to viewers in Burnsville. The league currently uses a custom written packet derived from an NAQT A level packet and lightning rounds.
