Nathaniel Kang (Class of 2022) is a high school player who currently captains St. Margaret's in the SoCal circuit. Primarily a history specialist, he established the SMES program in 2018, as well as the school's history and quizbowl clubs. He has competed in NHBB competition for six years but only began playing general QB as a high school freshman.
Career
He is a four-time history bee national semifinalist, consecutively from 2015–2018. At 2018 middle school nats, he finished 5th in the country in the 8th grade division, but missed out on reaching finals after falling short against Cooper Roh in the semis. Perhaps his best individual performance came when he placed seventh in JV at the 2019 US History Bee, marking his first finals appearance in a major nationals event.
