Santa Monica High School (also known as SaMo) is a public high school in Southern California. They have won several NAQT Southern California championships and strong showings at other local tournaments and HSNCT.

History

Santa Monica finished in fourth place at the 2001 NAQT California State Championships. Due to the current lack of tournament statistics from before 2005, it is unknown whether they participated in other tournaments prior to 2003.

In 2003 Santa Monica won the JV division of Capistrano Valley's High School Tournament. They sent two teams to the state championship, which finished tied for third and tied for seventh.

In 2004 the circuit as a whole suffered a setback after several of the great players from 2002 and 2003 graduated. Santa Monica took advantage of the situation, blowing out most of the competition on their way to the 2004 NAQT Southern California State Championship.

Santa Monica continued their circuit dominance in 2005, winning another state championship. They also attended their first HSNCT, finishing in an eight-way tie for 20th place.

In 2006 Santa Monica once again won the state championship, clearing the field by two games, and went to HSNCT, where they beat eventual national champion Richard Montgomery and finished tied for 12th place.

In 2007 Santa Monica seems not to have repeated in winning the state championship; however, they once again attended HSNCT and this time finished tied for 8th place.

Santa Monica's 2007-2008 season started with a victory at TWAIN VIII, followed by an undefeated tournament at Trojan Wars V.
