North Carolina is a state in the Southeastern United States. It has numerous quiz bowl teams at the high school, college, and middle college levels. There are both pyramidal and non-pyramidal tournaments in North Carolina.

Tournaments

There are many tournaments hosted yearly in North Carolina.

Some examples include:

- NCASA State Championship

- NCASA Middle School State

- Bonfire of the Manatees

- Tar Heel Cup

- Right Triangle Open

- Other NCASA regional and league tournaments

NASAT

A team from North Carolina attended NASAT in 2018; they finished in 15th place. A North Carolina team also attended NASAT in 2012, when they finished in 7th place. There was discussion of a North Carolina team attending the 2020 NASAT before it was cancelled because of the coronavirus pandemic.

Non-pyramidal

A High-IQ Bowl competition formerly existed in the Greensboro area.
