History
John Augustyn got his start in quiz bowl in the 5th grade, when he against all odds won the 2018 Chicago regional for the National History Bee. He became so involved and passionate about the academic sport that he continued to play in various quiz bowl tournaments both regionally and nationally after the National History Bee. John is most notable for often being a solo player for his current school of Notre Dame.
In September of 2019, John Augustyn also joined the quiz bowl team of Stanford Online High School, and he played in his first tournament with the school alongside famed players Arin Parsa, Karan Gurazada, and Andrew Chang in December of 2020.
