Erik Nielsen played quizbowl for the Florida high school all-stars, Boston University, and UCLA from 1999 to 2005. He was most famous in quizbowl for extensive literature and trash knowledge and for hastily quitting quizbowl and academia after a frustrating experience at the 2005 ICT. He has since become more famous out of quizbowl as a standup comedian and actor (under the SAG name "Erik Charles Nielsen") who portrays "Garrett Lambert" on NBC's Community.
