The 2020-21 season saw the first-ever MSHSAA realignment for Scholar Bowl.
High schools were formerly divided into 4 classes based on the size of their student bodies ("adjusted" for certain factors). Starting in 2021, there are now 6 classes, with private schools receiving a boost for their historical performance.
