History
The University of Oklahoma Academic Team was started in 1993 by Eric Bell and Dan Beshear. Led by Eric Bell the Oklahoma team preformed incredibly well placing third at the 1997 NCT and fourth at the ACF Nationals. After Eric Bell left Oklahoma continued to be a fairly competitive team under the leadership of Dan Beshear and Emily Moore reaching the top bracket at the ICT and ACF Nationals on several occasions. From 2016 to 2018, an Oklahoma team centered around the trio of Maia Karpovich, Finn Bender, and Caleb Kendrick led the team to several top twenty finishes at ICT and ACF Nationals. The University of Oklahoma used to host the Boren Cup, a long-running high school tournament on IS questions.
