James Madison University (JMU) is a public research university located in Harrisonburg, Virginia. Its quizbowl team has been active in the collegiate circuit since the fall of 2020.
History
The James Madison University Quizbowl Team was established during fall semester 2019 by Ryan Ritter, a freshman at the time. Players Will Phillips and Abhi Popuri quickly joined, and the trio became foundational members.
JMU competed in its first collegiate tournament at 2020 ACF Fall hosted online by UNC, achieving an overall record of 6-3. They competed in Division II at the 2021 ICT.
They hosted their first collegiate tournament, a mirror of Boilermaker Spring Novice, on April 23, 2022.[1]
