Boston University or BU is a private university in Boston, Massachusetts.

History

BU has long been active in both academic and trash formats since the team's founding in 1990-91. However, since the graduation and departure of Jack Brounstein and Nathan Bragg, the team has been mostly inactive. The only two tournaments at which they have been seen in the 2007-2008 year have been ACF Fall at MIT and TRASH Regionals at Brandeis, although the trash team was only 50% current BU students.

The Gerbils, a notable trash playing team, have their roots at BU, and Mark Coen, a member of the Gerbils, runs Cancel Bowl annually, typically at BU.

In the fall of 2006, a generally well-received trash junior bird tournament was written and edited by Jack Brounstein and Nathan Bragg, with help from Athul Seshadri.

Quizbowl at BU was restarted in 2022 by Biyang Zhang and remains active.

Traditional Tournaments Held

  • Terrier Tussle (held as a Moon Pie mirror in spring 2006 and 2007)
  • Crimson Puppy Chow (a junior bird co-hosted with Harvard)
