Sudheer Potru was a key part of the Detroit Country Day team which finished second at the 2001 HSNCT and then played five years for Illinois in college. He was an NAQT tossup specialist who led Illinois's top-bracket ICT teams in scoring in 2004, 2005, and 2006, including leading all individual scorers in power tossups in 2004 and 2006 and finishing second in powers in 2005. Sudheer then attended medical school at Michigan State, where his involvement in quizbowl was minimal.
