Jeff Hoppes is the history subject editor for NAQT, a former Chief Administrator of the Hsquizbowl.org forums, NAQT's communications director and their liaison to the forums, and president of NCQBA. Jeff is an unofficial candidate for Nicest Guy in Quizbowl.

Jeff is frequently cited as the most dominant player on a reasonably well-represented category (in Jeff's case, geography), and the best history player still on the open circuit. These strengths helped him lead teams to six NAQT titles in seven years of attending.

National titles

Jeff played on a Princeton team that won the Division II title at the 1999 ICT with Michael Chiswick-Patterson, Faith Hillis and David Sachs.

Jeff played on a Princeton team that won the undergraduate title at the 2000 ICT with Michael Chiswick-Patterson, Larissa Kelly and Steve Lawrie.

Jeff played on a Princeton A team that won the undergraduate title at the 2001 ICT with Michael Chiswick-Patterson, Larissa Kelly and David Sachs.

Jeff played on a Princeton A team that won the undergraduate title at the 2002 ICT with Larissa Kelly, Lenny Kostovetsky and Jacob Mikanowski.

Jeff played on a Berkeley team that took 1st place at the 2003 ACF Nationals with David Farris, Jon Pennington and Seth Teitler.

Jeff played on a Berkeley team that took 1st place at the 2004 ICT with David Farris, Jon Pennington and Seth Teitler.

Most recently, Jeff played on a Berkeley team that took 1st place at the 2006 ICT with David Farris, Paul Lujan and Brendan Shapiro.

Tournament editing and writing

Before his more recent work on all NAQT tournaments, Jeff helped edit and write the 2001 Princeton Buzzerfest, 2002 Princeton Buzzerfest, 2003 WIT, 2004 BLaST and 2005 ACF Regionals sets. He also helped write the 2003 Princeton Buzzerfest.
