Eleanor Roosevelt High School (ERHS) is a large public high school in the DC suburb of Greenbelt, Maryland. They have a history of success at early pyramidal quizbowl and It's Academic, including a third place finish at the 2000 HSNCT and a third place finish at the 1999 and 2002 NSC. In more recent years, the program has attended far fewer events.

According to Matt Bollinger, ER hosted a yearly speed tournament as recently as February 2009; results and statistics for this tournament are difficult to verify.

Team History

The Eleanor Roosevelt Quiz Team grew out of the It's Academic first formed by math teacher Gerald Greenbaum. The team won the 1994, 2000, and 2001 Washington Area It's Academic TV Show, winning the Super Bowl between the regions in 1994 and 2001.

Succession of titles

The ER Quiz Team finished third at the 2000 HSNCT, with a team consisting of Vinita Kailasanath, Daniel Greenstein, Daniyom Hale, and Peter Nilson. This is regarded as the strongest ER team to date.

Succession of minor titles

The team took 2nd place at the 2014 Green Eggs and Hammond Tournament.
