Luke Tierney was a Chicago player notable for being the top scorer on the Hunter team that won the 2016 HSNCT and the [[2017 HSNCT]. He was controversial in the quizbowl community for once wearing a Rhodesia t-shirt to a tournament, and for disparaging behavior towards female teammates.
In high school, he played for Hunter and was club president. He was named a member of the Second Team for the 2016 HSQBRank All-World Teams and of the first team for the 2017 teams. In college, he was on the Chicago C team, which won Division 2 of the 2018 ICT.
