The Wyoming Academic Challenge is a quizbowl league in Wyoming. The state tournament usually occurs during April and serves as the de facto state championship. The Academic Challenge was created in 1996 by John Tate, also the longtime coach of Riverside High School in Basin. Riverside has won the most titles of any team.
In recent years, members of the winning team have often been awarded admission and varying amounts of scholarship money to the host school. Institutions hosting the Academic Challenge have included Eastern Wyoming College and Sheridan College.
