Michael Arnold is a player at the University of Chicago. He more frequently goes by "marnold" or variants thereof like "marhola" (originated by Kevin Olmstead and his illegible handwriting) or "manhole" (accidentally coined by Seth Samelson but heartily endorsed by Andrew Yaphe).
Actual Quizbowl
Michael has been a member of some tournament-winning teams. At ELVIS in 2007, Andrew Yaphe buzzed a lot and Michael pretty much just sat there. He managed to actually contribute to the Chicago B team that won ACF Fall in 2007. In the 2008-2009 season, he has thus far managed to leap aboard the Seth Teitler Express to Tournament-Victory Town, being part of Chicago A's victories at ACF Winter, Penn Bowl, TIT, and Cardinal Classic He was the top Div II scorer at 2008 ACF Nationals, though since Div II players that won general undergrad scoring awards were excluded, the merits of this award are somewhat debatable. He was on Stone Cold Peter Austin, the third place team at 2009 Trashionals. He was also on the Chicago A team that won the 2009 ACF Nationals.
