Vidyut Arvind is a player for The Anderson School. He is currently an eighth grader.

He has been an involved member of the Anderson Middle School team since January 2022. He played his first tournament for the Anderson A on December 11th, 2021, at the TQBA Houston Holiday Hoedown XIII, averaging 9.29 points per game, qualifying for the MSNCT with a score of 4-3. He had his best game against Bishop Ludden with a score of 25 points.

The next month, he played in the TQBA Winter Roundup Lyft division along with teammates Jesse Lee, Xavier Neptune, and Tim Yang, where Anderson C won the tournament 8-2, defeating Challenger-Strawberry Park B in a hard game for the team’s first victory. The team clinched victory against St. John’s B 275-260 in the finals. Vidyut especially played well against Risdon Middle School, clinching 75 points for the team. He finished the tournament with a good 38.50 PP20TUH.

The next tournament, the TQBA 13th Annual Texas MS Championship, he played with Madhav Thakur, Jordan Lee, Joshua Mak, and David Wolff. His team had a 6-3 record, and he had his best round against Hamilton, with 50 PPG. He finished the tournament with 18.89 PP20TUH.

During MSNCT, Vidyut had a 45.65 PP20TUH, and he played on a highly balanced team of Tim Yang, Xavier Neptune, and Marcus Campoli. The team was rated one of the most underrated in the MSQB community, and it received high praise. Although the team only had a 4-4 record, Anderson C managed to pull off some amazing games - for example, the one where Vidyut scored 82.61 points, against St. Barnabas.

The next tournament, on October 29th, 2022, was the TQBA Tip-Off Classic. The Anderson A team of Vidyut, Bhavya Thakur, Xavier Neptune, and Jordan Lee went 9-1, winning the tournament. Vidyut scored a 76.62 PP20TUH. His team was quite balanced this tournament as well, and he has admitted that without his teammates, he would not have won the tournament. He scored most against Beckendorff B, beating them with 130 PP20TUH.

His most recent tournament is the TQBA Houston Holiday Hoedown XIV. His team, made up of Xavier Neptune, Natan Schwarz (replacement for Jordan) and Denis Danilin (replacement for Bhavya) (replacement doesn’t mean they’re bad, in fact they are amazing players) managed a 5-1 score in the preliminaries and won the first two rounds of the playoffs, getting revenge on the team that defeated them earlier. The team lost to Beckendorff A in the semifinals, and although Vidyut admitted he did throw on one question, he feels like it was the hardest game he had ever played. He had his best score against Adams C with 170 PP20TUH and a score of 7/7/1. He averaged 104.44 PP20TUH throughout the tournament.
