Eureka is a public high school in Eureka, Illinois, which draws students from southern Woodford & western McClean Counties. Halfway between Peoria & Bloomington-Normal. It competes in Class A, the "small school" division, of the Illinois High School Association's State Championship series.
Eureka competes in the Heart of Illinois Conference. It was a long-time member of the Peoria Area League.
The program pre-dates modern Illinois "scholastic bowl". Started in 1979 by IHSSBCA Hall of Fame coach, Joan Herron for over 30 years until 2009. Seeing Eureka as among the better Class A schools from Central Illinois in the early 2000's. Peaking when the Hornets played in the 2005 IHSA Class A State Championship against Chicago (Latin).
Eureka hosted the Masonic tournament between 1994-1991. It moved across town to Eureka College in 1995.
