Seth Teitler is a Chilean-American quizbowl player for the University of Chicago, where he has played from 2004 to the present. Seth is a doctoral candidate in the Department of Astronomy and Astrophysics. He previously played with Berkeley from 1999-2004.
Seth is known for his outstanding mastery of world mythologies in addition to his strength in the physical sciences and very high level of general knowledge. He led the 2007 Chicago team to a national championship double crown, and repeated the feat in 2009 by leading the 2009 Chicago teams to victories over Brown and Illinois in the 2009 ACF Nationals and 2009 NAQT ICT championships, respectively, making his 2009 title his third straight ACF Nationals title championship. He was also a key player on the 2003 Berkeley ACF National and 2004 Berkeley NAQT ICT championship teams. He also led Chicago to a 2nd place finish at the 2008 NAQT ICT.
He is considered an "evil archvillian" by the University of Maryland.

Seth helped edit and write the 2002 Science Masters, 2004 BLaST, 2005 ACF Fall, 2007 ACF Regionals and 2007 Chicago Open sets. He helped write the 2003 Subash Maddipoti Singles, John Stuart Mill Open and the 2006 EFT sets. He wrote the 2005 Myth Singles set. He may have written some science questions for the 2002 Chicago Open. He also edited the 2009 SCT.
