VHSL Region 6A South was a VHSL region in Class 6A, consisting of schools with more than 1927 students located generally in the southern half of the state. It contained Conferences 1, 2, 3, and 4, and was created after the 2014 VHSL Realignment.
6A South was in essence (with a few exceptions) a combination of about half of the former members of VHSL's Class AAA Eastern and Central Regions.
In the four years of its existence, Western Branch was the only one of its regional champions to place runner-up at the state tournament, in 2015.
Following the 2018 VHSL Realignment, Region 6A South will be split back up into regions 6A and 6B. Some 6A South schools will end up in primarily-Northern Region C.
