Cardinal Classic XIV
Cardinal Classic XIV was a tournament held at Stanford on January 24, 2004. It was a packet swap with Penn Bowl. Four or five of the Cardinal Classic teams submitted packets, but apparently they were not used at the tournament. 16 teams competed in the tournament. The teams were split into 2 brackets of 8 teams each, where they played a prelim round robin. After the prelims, teams were split into upper, middle, and lower playoff brackets (of 6, 5, and 5 teams, respectively). The teams then played a full round robin within their playoff brackets.
Results
At the end of the playoffs, two teams (Berkeley Jeff and Berkeley David) were tied at 4-1 in the upper bracket. A final was played between them, with Berkeley Jeff (Jerry Vinokurov, Jeff Hoppes, Seth Teitler, Larissa Kelly) winning 350-225 to win the tournament. The leading scorers in the prelim round robin were R. Hentzel from Bonus Army (92.14 PPG), Kevin Comer from Florida A (68.57 PPG), and Nick Meyer from Berkeley Nick (67.86 PPG).
