The Gerbils

The Gerbils are a trash team made up mostly of Boston University alums. The team debuted at 1995's Beltway Bandits, and has yet to go away.

Naming Convention

Typical Gerbil team names play on recent or upcoming film titles. A Gerbil Runs Through It was the first such name; it being overheard at a post-tournament party at Penn's Philly Experiment II.

Recent Years

Real-life commitments and the prevalence of mirror tournaments have made it hard for the core team to get together for events, while Mark's ongoing and Greg's previous tenure as TRASH staff have kept them out of the mix for official TRASH events. 2007 saw Mark and Chris get together with Dwight Kidder, Mike Burger, and Craig Barker to win TrashMasters under the name Gerbil Baby Gerbil. While Gerbil teams have qualified for TRASHionals in 2007 and 2008, the squads declined the bids in both years.
