Side events

A side event is a tournament held on the same weekend as a larger, more popular tournament. Side tournaments are frequently less broadly appealing than their host tournaments, and they use the greater appeal of the host event to attract a sufficiently large field. Side events are frequently, but not always, novelty tournaments.
