Criteria for inclusion

It is my personal opinion that this page should be limited to instances in which the achievement is of some marked significance. In particular, I believe that this should exclude scenarios where, if this criteria were not applied, there would be an abundance of entries. It strikes me as not particularly useful to have this page be dominated by strong individual players playing regular season tournaments at lower difficulties against weaker fields; without this restriction, this page becomes more of an expression of vanity than anything else. I made a number of edits to this page a while ago to this effect - in particular, I made sure to add context about the remaining incidents to make it clear why they deserved inclusion.

With that in mind I think that any future additions should either be at competitions with self-evident prestige (e.g. nationals or state championships) or include information justifying their inclusion. I think this is a sufficiently simple threshold that anything worth keeping will easily meet it - I know that I will personally not argue with anything that meets these criteria. -Kevin Wang (talk) 20:54, 1 March 2022 (CST)
