Eric Huff is a founder and co-owner of Qwiz. Prior to starting Qwiz, Eric was the coach of Dorman High School for 12 years and ran ACE Quizbowl Camps. Mr. Huff received the 2008 Benjamin Cooper Academic Ambassador Award from PACE.
Playing Career
Eric played quizbowl for Mauldin High School. While there, he attended early iterations of ACE camp.
At Clemson, Eric won a bar trivia contest that, unbeknownst to him at the time, put him on the university's College Bowl team. His only taste of collegiate competition was playing a College Bowl regional in Knoxville.
Coaching Career
Upon graduating from Clemson, Eric received a job offer from Dorman, where legendary coach Jim Garrick was looking for a replacement. Eric was Jim's assistant coach for one year and took over the program after that. Under Eric's leadership, the team took 2nd at the 2009 HSNCT and won the 2003 PACE NSC.
Eric took partial ownership of ACE during his Dorman years.
Post-Coaching Career
In 2012, Eric left Dorman to be Director of Elementary & Middle School Operations at National History Bowl Staff. After a year, he left NHBB as an employee but continued to run programs for them through a partnership with ACE.
Eric left ACE in 2018 to start a new organization, Qwiz, offering summer quizbowl camps.
