Joe Ahmad was a Notre Dame player and a former star of the Loyola Academy team. Joe's bread and butter is history, with a bit of music and art as well. He is also well known for his hilarious mispronounciations when answering questions. In one instance, he correctly answered Battle of Salamis (Sa-lam-iss) in a tossup but pronounced it as the plural form of the meat salami (sah lah meez). Despite this, he was arguably the most intellectual person in Illinois scholastic bowl. On the way to the 2007 SEMO ACE camp, he allegedly read War and Peace while listening to chamber music on his walkman.

In 2008, he helped lead his team to the state finals and became the second Rambler ever to be all-state.
