Cumberland High School is a public high school in Toledo, Illinois between Effingham & Mattoon. Cumberland competes in Class A, the "small school" division, of the Illinois High School Association's State Championship series. The Pirates also compete in the Lincoln Prairie Conference, South Central Scholastic League, & are previous contestants on WSIU's Scholastic Hi-Q program.

During the 2010's Cumberland emerged as one of the stronger programs from southeastern Illinois. The team saw a run of five IHSA Sectional titles in six years & a finalist finish at the 2015 SSNCT under the leadership of coach Brendan Aydt, now coach at Mattoon. Since 2017, the team has been coached by Nicole McCown, who has seen the program return to the IHSA State Finals and continue its success in the Masonic State Tournament.
