Isaac Hirsch was the captain of Blake for 3 years. He often went around with pseudonymous teams and frequently played alone. At the 2010 NSC, he finished #10 in individual scoring in the prelims, and #11 in the playoffs.

Hirsch played on Maryland B teams that earned 15th and 13th place at 2014 ICT and 2014 ACF Nationals, respectively. He is retired from quizbowl, although he plans to write a weird gimmick tournament that will be very enjoyable to cement his legacy.

Hirsch is less well-known as a player (he frequently describes himself as "aggressively mediocre") and more for his funny meta antics, like creating the satirical e-zine Quizbowl Tribune. Nowadays, Hirsch is a stand-up comedian living in Los Angeles whose brand of humor is frequently self-deprecating.

Game shows

Hirsch won $5,000 on Who Wants to be a Millionaire? in 2017, and $46,667 on The Chase in 2023. In July 2024, Hirsch won $215,390 in an impressive 9-day run on Jeopardy!.
