2010 Lisgar
The 2007-08 squad from Lisgar Collegiate Institute played to success in both Reach for the Top and NAQT.
Reach for the Top
Lisgar's Reach season began by hosting a Reach for the Top/NAQT hybrid tournament in October.
In Ottawa Schoolreach League play, Lisgar went undefeated through city play, defeating Merivale to win the Richard Magneau Trophy.
At provincials, Lisgar came 12th with a 5-2 record, but came 5th overall in points scored.
Quizbowl
Lisgar A swept the NAQT tournament hosted by Ottawa, with Lisgar C team taking second. Like earlier years, the win earned the team [HSNCT]] qualifications, and for the first time, two teams.
Lisgar sent three teams to the Ottawa Hybrid Tournament. Various Gloucester players played on Lisgar teams. The Lisgar teams all finished in the bottom three.
A depleted Lisgar A due to the school play did not affect them much as they won the inagural 2010 NAQT Ontario Provincials over rival UTS. Lisgar B finished 4th out of the 21 team pool.
Lisgar's two teams to 2010 HSNCT finished 43rd and 144th. However, the undoubtedly best moment of their HSNCT experince was when they ran into hockey personel Don Cherry while visiting Chicago's downtown.
The weekend after HSNCT saw Lisgar's freshmen and sophmores play at a novice tournament hosted by Bell. Unsurprisingly, the two sophmores Lisgar sent to HSNCT finished first and second in individual scoring.
