The National Academic Bowl was a high school national championship tournament run in 1996 and 1997 by one-time National Academic Championship staffer and former Los Alamitos coach John Gose via his organization Just Asking Questions. The format was four-quarter, and the questions were short but multi-clue, with more academic content than the NAC. Brookwood and Edison were the only teams who won the NAB before it went defunct (and in fact were the only teams to make the finals).
The first tournament awarded $1500 and free travel to the 1997 tournament as a prize.
