Simon Emmanuel is an quizbowl player from East Brunswick (Class of 2023).

Accomplishments

Simon first played at the 2018 NHBB Nationals Middle School Division, where he placed 68th. The next year, Simon finished 3rd in prelims at the 2019 MS Nationals, where he lost in the quarter-finals. At the 2020 Nationals in the JV division, Simon finished 18th in the World History Bee and 5th in the US History Bee, where he lost in the finals. At Churchill, he finished 11th in History Bowl at 2020 Nationals and Quarterfinalists at 2019 Nationals.

At the 2021 NHBB Nationals, he and Tanuj Chandekar led East Brunswick to a 4th place finish in the National History Bowl. In the US History Bee, Simon finished 2nd nationally at 2021 NHBB Nationals and finished as a semifinalist in the National History Bowl.

In quizbowl, Simon finished 2nd in individual scoring at Midsummer Classic, a novice tournament with 149 ppg, and finished 2nd at AQBL November, a regs set with 89 ppg. He finished 52nd at the 2021 IPNCT and was the 42nd highest individual scorer at the 2021 HSNCT with a 60 ppg.

Simon is an executive board member for National Indian Scholastic Competitive Events.
