The following represent my thoughts on the National Open, as seen from the University of Maryland at College Park. I post them here because I think Andrew isn't subscribed to this: [whimper] As this was my only experience with true ACF over the past year, I sincerely hope this isn't _real_ ACF. If it is, I want none of it. However, I will attempt to find out what real ACF is like this year at other locations such as Terrapin or Regionals (I hope). On a side note, if Andrew *ever* becomes editor of ACF questions, Duke will become NAQT-only. I guarantee it. I'm not just complaining because of my 6 ppg. I'm complaining because it seemed like a lot of people were suffering. Our team didn't crack 250 all day, and I don't think we were in a match where the combined score topped 400. The closest was a 190-170 victory for us, followed by a 345-5 defeat. Maybe other games were more lucky, but this doesn't bode well if a team can play 11 games and never once be in a 400 aggregate game. Yeah, we played two others afterwards, but I was unable to be in those due to a stomach problem. Anyway, 12 days to Philadelphia. I should post today-Friday and next Monday-Thursday as the anticipation builds. As I consider this to be the first tournament of the 1999-2000 season, I hope for the best. With all the rules in place, it's more than just a preseason atmosphere for me -- it's a true "experiment". See you there! Andy
