1. I'd once again support self-moderation - religion is a very touchy issue for many of us, and it has a tendency to make discussions very heated. Aside from legit. questions on question distribution, etc., please don't bring it up. It can very easily make chat a nasty place to be, particularly since it's difficult to make or defend points in chatroom formats (since the subject can rarely be discussed in sound bites). I'd much rather ignore the topic entirely here than be forced to defend my personal position. Similar issues such as politics and the validity of voting are also difficult to present and defend in a chat room, and are probably best avoided. This does not mean that the topic is unimportant - it just means that there are better fora on the web to discuss it. 2. I don't know about Sunday-only bans, since Mormons don't make up a huge percentage of people on the East Coast, and BYU doesn't have a Richmond campus with a qb team. What about other religions that consider Friday or Saturday holy days? There also aren't that many weekends in the school year, so Sunday tournaments are occasionally a necessity for people to run what they want. This issue becomes particularly less important when the Blue Hen Buzzer Bash is going on: observants can still get their qb fill on Friday/Saturday tournaments without missing that much. That said, if you're in a region that has BYU or you have a national tournament that has BYU or a measurable percentage of people from other faiths, make changes if at all possible. Emory's NIT (yes, the circuit did this too) did this after BYU was disqualified one year by changing dates the second time around. That's a legitimate accomodation.
