Not to pick nits, but please remember that "quiz bowl" is really the generic name for this stuff..."college bowl" is but one of a gaggle of specific incarnations. I'm an addict. I'm getting ready to retire from intercollegiate play (this year or next...can't see the point of playing much longer when I reach my late 20s), but I'm looking forward to a long "masters" career playing on teams with my wife and my friends. I always thought it was a shame that there isn't more out there for people once they stop playing intercollegiately...well, you have the summer masters events, but in the fall and the winter and the spring, there's not much happening to entertain the old fogies. To specifically answer you question, yeah, I think about it a lot (like "hey" maybe that'll come up when listening to NPR when I drive to school every day)...but not as much as I used to, since I'm sort of on my own now with a sketchy teammate situation and no time to do much of anything but school (perhaps next year (with only two classes a semester instead of three, and a whole set of lectures under my belt so when I TA again it won't be so time consuming) I can devote more of my time to foudning, recruiting, and coaching a UMASS program and really getting something going that'll last after I'm outta here. Anyway, sure, quiz bowl is still a hell of a lot of fun for me..is it as "serious" to me as it once was now that I'm married and in school full time once again? not really, but then again, I met my wife through this thing, so it's not like that's much of a distraction ;-) - Guy
