Sure you got your Salks and your Listers and whatnot,
but
there are many more Pasteurs, Lavoisiers, Curies,
etc. Also, with the
whole literature I wholly
disagree...more material is written about Hugo
or Moliere or
Shakespeare, or Robert Frost, Shaw, and Lord Byron as
opposed to John Grisham, Rita Dove, Ralph Ellison,
etc.
Joseph Lister was British.
Robert Frost was
American.
