Flights out of Indianapolis or Midway would cost (as a > friend of mine has just informed me) about $500 roundtrip for each of our players. Add on the one night <snip> Flights out of Midway to L.A. do NOT cost $500 round trip. $300 is expensive, $250 is average, and you can usually find a deal for less than $200. I take this trip an average of 4-5 times per year on either Southwest or American. If you're willing to suffer some truly crappy service, Frontier, ATA and America West all have comparable rates. Granted, it is a little bit of a pain to drive the three hours from Urbana to Chicago, but you would probably do that anyway, unless the tournament were in Urbana, in which case no one else would come. (Anyone remember that ACF Nationals?) I move that NAQT hold the 2004 ICT in Denver, arguably the most difficult and most expensive place to fly to from anywhere in the U.S. That way everyone will be equally miserable. -- maribeth
