OQBA Fall Challenge II--November 23, 2002 [HS]

The Oklahoma Quiz Bowl Alliance is pleased to invite all high school 
academic bowl teams to the OQBA Fall Challenge II, to be held on 
Saturday, November 23, 2002, on the campus of Redlands Community 
College in El Reno OK (about 20 minutes west of Oklahoma City). 
Thirty teams from Oklahoma and beyond will participate in this event. 
Registration will begin at 8:30 AM, a general meeting will be held at 
9:00 AM, and matches should begin by 9:30.

Each team will be guaranteed six matches against randomly-selected 
opponents before the top sixteen teams will advance to double-
elimination playoffs. Matches will be played according in tossup-
bonus format according to standard NAQT rules 
<http://www.naqt.com/rules.html>, except that matches will be played 
as two untimed halves of 10 tossups each with bonuses.  IMPORTANT:  
This tournament does not use standard OSSAA rules.  Please review the 
rules and format carefully before deciding to attend.

The entry fee is $50 per team if paid by October 20th (postmark 
date); after that, it increases to $60 per team. Schools are limited 
to two teams per school. Each school is also requested to bring at 
least one buzzer system and one person per team (nonplaying student, 
team alternate, or adult) to serve as a scorekeeper. If this will be 
a problem, please let us know in advance. The entry deadline is 
November 11th. 

Questions from the tournament will be available for $25 / complete 
set and may be paid in advance or at the tournament.
