Whether someone is expressing an "educated opinion" or "talking out his ass," last time I checked this board was able to accomodate both types of posts without difficulty. Moreover, unlike in a normal conversation, you have the absolute freedom to skip over any post you don't wish to read, thereby avoiding wasting your time. Without knowing who either you or Stephen are, it strikes me as highly disrespectful that you should malign him thus in a public forum rather than making the opinion you expressed below known to him in private. Even better, instead of making ad hominem attacks, you could just criticize his ideas or something. Jerry (who has never held back an opinion, educated or not) > I also have an opinion. I think it's really annoying that certain > people have the attitude that everyone is just dying to hear every > little trivial thought they have on any subject and feel compelled to > waste people's time and attention by blurting them out in a stream of > rambling gibberish. > > I also have the opinion that when I am interested in hearing > someone's thoughts on a subject, I want to hear from someone who has > experience and knowledge of the subject and knows what he is talking > about, not someone who has barely any of the above and is simply > talking out his ass in a lame attempt to try to sound profound and > impress people. > > Fortunately, I'm glad that most people I have talked to agree with me > on this.
