We at Princeton were thinking about holding our own TRASH tournament
here on March 29, 2003, and wanted to let people know and see if any
interest exists. Nothing official or final has been decided, but we
had a few ideas for our a tournament:
1. It would be packet submission.
2. The tournament would be limited to undergraduate teams and
players, but would NOT be a junior bird (i.e. an undergrad exclusive
tournament that is NOT limited to novice level)
3. Packet guidelines would contain (though the specifics are
undecided) chronological limits for the subject. For example, we
may ask that all TV questions be based on shows/movies dated from
1980-present to get rid of all the obscure 60's and 70's shows that
pop up in many TRASH packets. The goal would be for teams to play
on questions that are all relevant to their generation.
If you have any comments about our tournament idea, post here; and
if you're actually interested in attending a tournament here, send
an e-mail to both cfrankel(at)princeton.edu and bklein(at)
