Here are the question deadlines for the 2003 edition of ACF Regionals to be held on the weekend of February 15th. The base fee will be between $85 and $100 and will be determined by the host school of each region. Teams that have not attended ACF Regionals in the past two years will be allowed to attend by paying the minimum fee set by the hosts and will not be eligible for any more discounts. Please keep in mind that only the A teams of schools who attended ACF Regionals last year are required to submit packets. These schools will not be allowed to play if they do not submit a packet. All other schools may submit packets for the appropriate discounts but are not required to do so. I will be asking for packets of 30 tossups and 30 bonuses this year following the distribution set forth in John Sheahan's question writing supplement at http://www.dpo.uab.edu/~paik/acf/writers.html Deadlines: Packet in by midnight CST Sunday, December 29 - $25 discount Packet in by midnight CST Wednesday, January 8 - $15 discount Packet in by midnight CST Sunday, January 19 - no penalty Packet in by midnight CST Sunday, January 26 - $15 penalty Packet in by midnight CST Sunday, February 2 - $30 penalty No packets will be accepted after February 2, unless you have contacted me at least a week in advance, in which case some arrangements might be made. A couple of notes: - A packet is not deemed complete for discount purposes unless the full 30-30 is supplied. - Teams may submit trash (sports/pop culture) among their 30-30 but no more than 1/1 will make it into the packet and there is no guarantee that there will be any trash in the packet. - I will post a list of do's and dont's in a day or so with formatting requirements as well. In addition, I'll make available, to anyone who wants one, a sample packet of proper difficulty and proper formatting. - For anyone who wants to submit a packet before I post these guidelines you can send it to me as a MS Word, RTF, or text attachment in that order of preference. Please send all packets to subash at uchicago dot edu or suby10 at yahoo dot com Don't hesitate to ask any questions at all either. You can direct them to the above e-mail addresses. Subash Maddipoti
