This is true, point noted. And while Stephen Webb does post alot (which doesn't annoy me in the slightest, and makes me wonder why it DOES annoy so many people), when I met him at COTKU in Chattanooga, he seemed to be in the minority of non-annoying Quiz Bowl players... Even though he did beat us in the semi-finals... But that's not something to hold against him. He's a damn good player, especially for a freshman, and people like him are going to keep this game going when (and if) some of the so-called "dinosaurs" die out. I plan to play for at least one more year, possibly two... But I coach a Middle School team, and am supposed to get a High School team soon, so that will be my contribution to the game. I may play in some open tournaments or something, but I'm not gonna take alot of extra classes just to be eligible for Quiz Bowl. I played in Jr. College for a while, and this is my first year to play Intercollegiate teams (in Jr. College we only played against other 2-year schools in our state). I also play for a school that has never had a team before, and at times this year I've had to play solo... So in that regard, I'm a newbie too, even though I have played and/or coached in some manner for nine years. For the most part, people have been very supportive to me. Charlie Steinhice and Raj have both answered alot of my questions about the circuit, the different formats, etc. Anyway, my point was that young players who are enthusiastic about playing and who don't hesitate to give their opinions about the game are the kinds of people the Quiz Bowl Community NEEDS in order to survive and flourish. They shouldn't be ridiculed and attacked for showing such interest. That is my point, and that is why my previous post was more useful and relevant than the posts of one qbtunagirl, who complains everytime someone posts something that she deems unnecessary or useless, never realizing that the most useless posts on this board are hers. -Lee Henry Athens State University --- In quizbowl_at_y..., "Adam Escandell" <duchamp2537_at_y...> wrote: > BTW, if you ever played against Stephen Webb, he'd slaughter > > you, so give the kid a break.
