Joe: << Since no full-scale attempts at question-writing guides have been attempted in the last several years (to my knowledge), and since question-quality expectations have risen so dramatically since the existing guides were written, I tried writing a smaller version for our club last year. I have just finished some minor revisions, and I finally got around to putting it on the web. It is located at: http://www-scf.usc.edu/~jwright/questionwriting.htm While it was written for club use, it occurred to me that it might help others as well. I would also be anxious to hear any feedback anyone might have on it. --joe wright >> Me: I don't think that question quality expectations have risen, but I do think that question DIFFICULTY expectations (easier or harder) have become a relevant discussion point. The only major suggestion I have: change to a Courier/fixed-width font in the text of your question so it stands out as something different than your "regular" information about writing questions. Other than updating links (it's now search.eb.com OR www.brittanica.com, and the College Bowl general reference page is gone), it's a very good guide.
