Where can the 2002 Regionals packets be obtained? The ACF question archive at http://acf-qb.org/archive.html has packets up to and including the year 2001 only. I'm not sure what ACF's public release policy is, but better regionals questions may result if all writers have access to the previous year's packets. > If your > answer has not come up AT LEAST twice as a prior tossup or bonus > answer, then you should almost certainly not be writing a tossup with > said answer. Thanks to consistent formatting, it's not hard to scan for answers in electronic copies of Regionals packets from 1999 onward (except possibly last year's, which I don't have). If we search for the literary works most commonly occurring in NAQT questions, as listed at http://www.naqt.com/YouGottaKnow/literature.html then we find that six of the top 10 do not come up AT ALL as answers to tossups or bonuses in the said ACF packets. These works include Hamlet, the Iliad, Moby-Dick, Macbeth (though Lady Macbeth of Mtsensk comes up twice), Candide, and Pride and Prejudice. As far as I can tell, Moby-Dick and Candide and the Scottish play never even get mentioned in the questions. For literature, art and music, it may be better advice to refer writers to the Carleton Frequency of Mention of Titles Databases at http://www.student.carleton.edu/orgs/quizteam/lists.html
